One of our favorite things we do here at May’s is giving back to our beautiful STL community. May is mental health awareness month - a perfect opportunity to lift up CHADS coalition, an organization focusing on mental health support for young people. Suicide is the leading cause of death for peole ages 10-34, and CHADS strives to prevent that.

Every purchase you make at May’s Place in the month of May will make a difference, as a portion of profits will be donated to CHADS.

CHADS (Community, Healing, Adolescent Depression and Suicide) was founded by Marian and Larry McCord after their 18-year-old son lost his battle with depression and committed suicide in April of 2004. After the fact, they were determined to make an organization that helped kids like Chad have a bright future ahead by awareness and funding for mental health.

This nonprofit offers counseling services for people under 25, in addition to education for parents and other educators to help break the stigma around mental health and provide proper information on bullying and mental illness.
